  • Mena Massoud

    Mena was born in Cairo, Egypt and immigrated to Toronto, Canada, with his parents and two sisters at the age of three. He studied neuroscience at the University of Toronto and earned honor roll status before transferring to Ryerson University and graduating with a BFA in theatre.

    He is an actor, author and entrepreneur. He has founded Evolving Vegan, which aims at making veganism accessible to all and has also launched a nonprofit organization to aid underrepresented artists, the EDA (Ethnically Diverse Artists) Foundation.

    Mena’s billion-dollar success of Aladdin proved that the world is ready for mainstream international stories and representation. Inspired by this, Mena has founded Press Play Productions to continue paving the way for diverse artists and stories.

  • Ali Mashayekhi

    Ali Mashayekhi has produced over 50 films around the world since 2003 including Japan, Indonesia, USA, Netherlands and France. Most recently he has produced the award-winning short film Liminal (2020), the feature anthology An Assortment of Christmas Tales in no Particular Order (2019), and the award-winning short web-series Day Players.

    In the Fall of 2021 Ali will be producing a Stephen King short story adaptation based on Sherlock Holmes, The Last King, entirely in the Farsi language for PPP. This Farsi adaptation will star Maz Jobrani (A Simple Wedding), Navid Negahban (Homeland) and Shiva Negar (American Assassin).

    Ali is also the Executive Director of the Ethnically Diverse Artists (EDA) Foundation, a non-profit and charitable organization founded by Mena Massoud, which aims to inspire inclusivity and diversity in the arts.

    Brad is a talent manager at Link Entertainment, one of Hollywood’s leading management companies. He brings over 20 years of Hollywood experience and understands what it takes to cultivate successful talent and productions.

    His connections to executives, directors, agents and talent make him an invaluable asset to Press Play Productions having nurtured the careers of some of the top talent in Hollywood such as Chris Evans and Mena Massoud.

  • George Shehata

    George is an Egyptian entrepreneur and one of our local producers in the MENA region. He has a Master’s Degree in business and his network in Egypt and the surrounding region is vast.

    Being a local producer, he provides Press Play with up-to-date insight into the rapidly growing industry in the Middle East and North Africa while maintaining strong relationships with the ever-flourishing networks, studios and producers in the region.
